Privacy
Last updated 2026-10-04
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no advertising. The only personal data we hold is what an order needs, and most of that stays with Etsy or Gumroad.
What this site records
- Counting clicks, not people. When you press a “Buy on Etsy” button the
link goes through
/go/etsy/…and we write one line to a log: the time, the listing number and the page you came from. The star-map page sends two small signals of the same kind (that a preview was drawn, and which style; that checkout was started). No IP address, no email, no browser details and no identifier of any kind are stored, so these lines cannot be traced to you. - Abuse control. Our server holds your IP address in memory for a few minutes to stop floods of requests. It is not written to disk.
- Server and CDN. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks, under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy. Our web server keeps ordinary short-lived access logs for troubleshooting.
- Fonts. Two typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser requests those files from Google directly (Google sees the request as it would for any web page using its fonts).
When you buy
- On Etsy (print sets, singles, framed prints, tees, printed star maps)
- Etsy takes the payment and holds your account, address and order details under Etsy’s privacy policy. Etsy shows us your name, the shipping address and what you ordered so we can fulfil it. For printed goods we pass the shipping address and the artwork to the print partner that makes the item (Gelato or Printful); they use it only to produce and ship your order. For a personalised star-map print, the details you typed (date, time, place, your lines) and the order number are kept on our server so you can see and approve the proof at /proof/; the proof page looks an order up by order number plus postal code (or last name) and shows nothing else.
- On this site (digital star map, paid through Gumroad)
- Gumroad takes the payment under Gumroad’s privacy policy and sends us the sale reference, your email address and the design you entered. We use the email to send your download links and nothing else — no newsletter, no marketing. The order record (reference, email, design, the rendered file) stays on our server so we can re-send or redraw it; download links expire after 7 days. The Gumroad checkout opens as an overlay on the star-map page; inside it Gumroad may use its own cookies.
- When you email us
- Messages to [email protected] are kept as long as needed to deal with your question and your order, then deleted.
What we never do
- Sell, rent or share your data with anyone except the payment and print partners named above.
- Send marketing email. If you hear from us, it is about an order you placed.
- Track you across sites, or let anyone else do it from our pages.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it is used — email [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. Some order records must be kept for tax and accounting; we will tell you if that applies. For data held by Etsy or Gumroad, their account tools and privacy pages are the fastest route. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data-protection authority.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
